Certificates held/training attended:

trained as a volunteer Breastfeeding Counsellor with Nursing Mother’s Counsel in Santa Cruz California (2002), completed the Certified Lactation Educator Program through Evergreen Medical Centre, Seattle WA (2003), DONA approved Postpartum Doula program through the Mothering Touch Centre, Victoria BC (2008). I continue to keep updated about this field of work by regularly attending workshops, conferences and taking classes.

Relevant Background:

I have been a mother for over 9 years now and supporting new and breastfeeding families since 2002. I strongly believe that support is fundamental in the postpartum days/months/years. My work at Maternal Connections in California and here in Victoria at the Mothering Touch Centre has allowed me to work with many families, which I find extremely rewarding and reminds me everyday of the miracle of bringing new souls into the world.

Services/fees:

Breastfeeding Consultations-

home visit - $50/hour (first visit about 2 hours)
after first visit – unlimited phone and email support

Postpartum Doula Services-

$20/hour – minimum 3 hour shifts
includes breastfeeding support, light meal preparation, light household duties, help with normal newborn care, emotional support
